Stockholm Tours:


Sightseeing in Stockholm is by far best when you walk around, not much in the city is further away than within 10 minutes walk. However there are alternatives, for example guided bus tours.

Taxi Tours

A licensed taxiguide will take you on a regular tour and drive wherever you chooose.

Private guided Tours

Tours by boat, bus or walking can be arranged by Licenced Guides for sightseeing.

Tour to Sigtuna

Sigtuna is the oldest Town in Sweden and is situated not far from Arlanda airport in the Northern outskirts of Stockholm.

It is a small town, but with a very cosy atmosphere reknown for its cakes and cafes. To get there one can use trains or buses.

Trosa Town

Only an hour away you will find the idyllic town of Trosa. Another historical town of traditional Sweden with excellent restaurants and enjoyable walks through the narrow alleys of the village.

Mariefred, Gripsholm and taxinge Castle

A small picturesque town sout of Stockholm with the main attraction Gripsholm Castle. The castle is situated off the shore of lake Malaren with the finest art, portraits and furniture on exhibition.

Boat Tours

One can also enjoy a boat tour through the many islands to Husarö or a shorter one to Vaxholm. Boat leaves ofrom Strömkajen on saturdays at 08:15.

Changing the Guards

Takes place around noon, best to watch on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays

This Century long tradition, which has taken place since 1523 is known to be quite a spectacular show. The honour guard is made up of young soldiers from all of the services. By the Royal Palace in the famous district of Gamla Stan, certainly too big to miss!

Drottningholm Palace Drottningholm Palace

Constructed in the 1600's and is listed on the World Heritage List. This is the official home to the royal family since 1982. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia Renate Sommerlath occupy the residence, with their three children. The public are able to view the palace and grounds, except the southern wing, which are lviing quarters.The theatre, gardens and Chinese Pavilion make it an unforgettable visit.

Eriksdalsbadet

The Swimming Pool opened in June 1999 and it offers a diving area, 2 pools, waterworld fun area and a gym. A large outdoor pool is open in the summer.

Nearest metro station is 'Skanstull'.

Gröna Lund Gröna Lund

This is an amusement park, but used to be a garden, since the name Gröna Lund means 'Green Grove'. As well as rides such as roller-coasters, a free-fall and dodgems, the park has eight restaurants and several concerts.

Gröna Lund is located on the island of Djurgården. Catch buses 44 or 47 to get there.

Storkyrkan

The Cathedral Of Stockholm is located in the Gamla Stan and is probably one of the most popular and well visited. The highlights are the very grand looking pulpit and the monument of St.George and the Dragon. It was built in the 13th Century and the current King and Queen were married here. Look out for the concerts that take place here and Sunday services.

Church of Adolf Fredrik The Church of Adolf Fredrik

Named after King Adolf Fredrick, the church stands in Holländargatan 16. The church ( built in the shape of a Greek cross ) contains sculptures, paintings in the dome from 1900, chapel and a beautiful organ. The churchyard contains the graves of prime ministers Hjalmar Branting and Olof Palme and actors actors Anders de Wahl and Thor Modéen.

The Globe Arenas Stockholm

The large arenas accommodate various events-mainly sport, meetings and music concerts. There are also several restaurants in the Globe.

Tom Tits Experiment

This is Sweden's largest Science Centre, where visitors can interact with experiments, making it much more fun! There are also regular demonstrations, a rat-agility race, space ball and much more natural science and technology based displays.

Open weekdays 10:00-16:00 and weekends 11:00-17:00. Summer hours (12th June-20th August) 11:00-17:00 everyday.

Tom Tit's experiment is located 35 km south of Stockholm.
